Just ignore those annoying Kirstie Alley commercials that were on a couple of years back - Pier 1 is actually a cool place. They have and eclectic inventory of imported home decor items from all over the world and reasonable prices. It is a good place to find that one little detail that pulls a whole room together, or just to get ideas for making your place look nicer.
