Take heed potential new consignors. If you don't mind being treated poorly, by all means, bring your "this year designer label only" clothes for consignment. I checked this store's clothes in advance, to see if my admittedly older, but good condition, classic styled clothes with some designer brand labels, would be fit for consignment. I also called for requirements. Had 50+ items, made a half hour appointment, 2 weeks in advance. Took time preparing, expecting in good faith, that each item would be assessed, kept or rejected. Immediately, on arrival, something seemed amiss. Outside main door, struggled with large bundles. 4 employees standing around inside, no customers, and not one employee was polite enough to open the door, ask if I needed help, or even make eye contact. In back, hanging things on a rack, I attempted to separate clothes from others already on rack. Without looking, the woman who appeared to be in charge said, "You don't have to do that; I can tell your clothes from the others." The woman was abrupt, and with only a random look at 5-7 items, said the clothes were "out of style, wrong season, don't need any more party dresses, can't sell this stuff", and just waved off all as if trash. Said to take to place that accepts donations. I am talking about Albert Nipon, Liz Claiborne, A.J. Bari, silks, wools, seasonal colors, fully lined suits, sweaters, black wool skirts, etc. The appointment was over in less than 5-10 minutes. As I walked out of the store, puzzled, I again took a good look at the clothing items already packed in there, thinking that I made a mistake about the quality, styles sold there, but most didn't look any more "in style, seasonal", or in any better shape than anything I brought in. If they didn't need any more inventory, they should have said so & saved everyone time & energy. It's just another resale shop, but with a bad attitude.
