I recommend Marsha Howerton without reservation. I've been associated with this practice for many years, first with Martha Dannenbaum, and now Howerton. I was referred for cervical problems. I like her very, very much. She's been friendly, relaxed and relaxing, very professional, honest, informative, and most of all, gentle. I've had gynos who use a speculum like a plow - not Marsha. I have nothing but praise for her personality, manner, and skill. However - Martha Cheatwood, ARNP, is another matter. I required a second colposcopy, and was scheduled with her for the procedure. With very little knowledge and less apparent care, Cheatwood took it upon herself to tell me I really didn't need it, the recurrent dysplasia was likely a matter of healing from the LEEP I'd had three months previously, and I should wait another three months for a fifth pap this year. She was, at best, cavalier about my very legitimate concerns and fears, and irritated by my questions. I will never see her again unless my life is at risk, and then only for basic first aid. As someone else wrote about this practice: Consistency between the theory of treatment and practice among the treating staff (nurses, doctors, and PA's) would be of great help and alleviate concerns and confusion.
