Review content:
I was having a problem in my apartment, a squirrel had gotten into my wall and an exterminator had taken over my apartment. So I needed a hotel. Obviously I was stressed so I felt I deserved a little pick me up. I loved staying at the Renaissance in Portsmouth. I was working at the Naval Hospital practically across the street at that point so it was nicely convenient.
When I checked in, the desk clerk asked me if I was ok...I guess I looked stressed. I explained to her why I was there, and she smiled and laughed and offered me free parking and internet access (after telling her my husband was at sea and email was the only way to reach him).
I ordered room service and set up with the internet and HBO, satisfied not to worry about rodents. I had the She-Crab soup, which is one of my favorite things and they did it REALLY well. It had the perfect touch of sherry in it and wasn't too thick.
I really enjoyed and needed this stay. The room was well laid out and I had everything I needed, plus a friendly staff downstairs to make sure I enjoyed my stay. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat, and wouldn't hesitate to try another Renaissance location.
ON another note, I had also been to a formal dining out with my husband's Navy command in this hotel. The sit down dinner was catered and decorated beautifully.
