This Dairy Queen is located on the York Road, a busy road that heads out of Gettysburg to the East. The local DQ doesn't serve food but it is open all year (well, except for when the owner and his family go on vacation, usually in February). The selection of Blizzards is dizzying: at last count there were 30 flavors. But I like to make special requests, and they are cheerfully accommodated. Right now my favorite Blizzard is Peanut Butter Crunch with chocolate ice cream. (Tastes like a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup.) Their other ice cream concoctions (DQ Peanut Buster Parfait or the old standby banana split) are also put together with great care. This place is always hopping, but the service is fast and friendly.
