Businiess name:  Teak On The Hudson

Review content:
Although it is obvious that affiliates of this restaurant have been hilariously and misleadingly inflating reviews on this restaurant, I must say the ambience at Teak was indeed impressive. It had a massive first floor dining room with a giant fish tank that spans the full length of the bar, a nice private area for parties upstairs, and a beautiful view of the Hudson and NYC. But for this great first impression, you will pay with your wallet. The food while fresh was definitely not up to par with the value. Biggest upset was the oyster shooters appetizer: it was about 20 bucks for only 4 mediocre oysters. I don't mind paying good money for pricey oysters like kumamotos, but these were not impressive. We were also let down by the 50% discount on Mondays because our party was larger than 6 people. In my opinion, this is bad business, good for Teak, because the rest of the patrons there (groups less than 6) got a better deal than us and they weren't subjected to imposed gratuity at the end of the night. With all that said, our party still had a great time and the service staff was very nice to us while not as attentive as most other restaurants. Drinks and music were pretty good too. Regardless of the negative criticism, I think people will keep going back to this place because it's an impressive sight to see and for those with company cards and fat wallets, it's no big deal to impress colleagues or a nice date. I'd say this is the perfect place for those who endulge in the superficial lifestyle. Pros: Great Ambience & View - owners did something right Cons: Overpriced & Sparse Service - when money is good, they probably won't change
