Review content:
Maybe we caught this place on an off day. It was completely empty when we dropped by for lunch shortly after it opened. The setting was attractive, but not particularly comfortable. The service was awkward---the waitress was obviously struggling with English, seemed to be cripplingly shy and spoke so fast, we had a hard time understanding the choose-your-own-ingredients concept being offered. We ordered two different items with our specifications and a glass of wine apiece. Then we waited. And waited. And waited. No wine, no utensils, no food. As we were the only two people in the place we were a bit puzzled by the delay. We noticed the waitress chatting to two passersby who were perusing the menu out front, but she resolutely refused to look in our direction. By this time, 10 to 15 minutes had passed with nary a glass of water to entertain us. Five minutes more and my husband?s meal arrived. Mine was nowhere to be seen. Neither was the wine forthcoming. I told my partner to go ahead and eat. 10 minutes later, and my meal appeared. Still no wine. I had to remind the waitress, and then we got the beverages about half way through the meal. Sigh. Service aside, the food was, eh, pretty much one note. At least my curry was--I was bored after three bites. My husband?s dish was a little more engaging. Long story short, I wasn?t encouraged by the food and the service was bad enough that I haven?t considered a return trip. Pros: Unusual concept in menu, interesting decorations Cons: Service, boring curry
