Review content:
The check engine light came on in my 2003 Dodge truck so I took it to work and a friend and I scoped it and it showed the code PO441...a evap purge performance problem and recommended replacing the nvld pump. I took it to Farris because I thought the repair would be under warrenty and after telling him what we found, left the vehicle and went back to work. About three hours later they called to say that the pump did need to be replaced but was not under warrenty and would cost about $140 to replace. I told them not to do it, I would come get the truck. That is when he informed me I owed them $80 for checking it out when I had told them when I took it what it was!! The secretary gave me the keys and bill for the truck. I took it to the cashier and told her I had a problem with paying the bill at that time. I requested to talk with Mr. Farris. She said ok and I left to get in my truck. The service rep. followed me out and said I needed to pay the bill or it would be like a drive off at the gas pump. I told him I did not have any money with me or my check card and would be back the following day to pay it. He said that was ok. I left, went and got my check card ,went back and paid it. The following day I went to Cox Dodge in Wilson where I had purchased the truck. I told them what happened. The service writer smiled when I told him of the hassle I had with Farris. He explained the warrenty very clearly to me and said the part was not under warrenty. He sold me the part at a discount and was very understanding and courteous. I would recommed Cox Dodge to anyone in the area but not Farris. I feel I was charged for something I did not even receive. Beware! A lot of cars in this area are taken to Cox to be serviced and now I know why!! Pros: close to home Cons: very poor service
