It's really called Shanahan's Jazzwine Grille, but for some reason it's listed without the prefix. ANYWAYS, I brought a ladyfriend here on a whim because I wanted to try it out. As soon as we were seated I noticed how underdressed I was in comparison to the atmosphere, not to mention she was dressed to thrill too. So this place is a fairly dressy place to go. Our waiter was quite friendly and advised us of the specials, there was just about one special to satisfy every type of appetite, I was so moved by one of the descriptions that I ordered it. The food was above average in price, but once it showed up I saw why. I ordered a peppercrusted steak, medium rare, and it arrived with not a bit of the plate showing. The preparation that went into it was amazing, a layer of peanut oil coated the plate, on top of which was a layer of a light steak sauce/gravy, in the center was the steak, and there was a rasperry wine drizzle zig zagging across the entire plate. I was afraid to eat it because it was so pretty! Upon the first cut I could see that My medium rare was done to perfection, not a bit of the red meat, but a deep pink throughout, and it tasted amazing, hands down the best steak I have ever had. My ladyfriend had the fish and chips, which somehow were also delicious, I didn't even know it was possible to make deep fried cod as good as they did. And then we asked to see the dessert menu. Our waiter brought out a tray with a sample of every item on the dessert menu, which made deciding extremely hard, but ultimately more worthwhile. I got the cheesecake, and she got the triple layer chocolate. Lucky for me she was full and I got two desserts out of the deal! The cheesecake was perfect, firm, tall and with a small amount of cream cheese icing on the rim. The whole thing ended up costing more than I expected, but I must say it was well worth it. It's just a shame that the place gets such little business. So go there! Help get this place going! Pros: Great atmosphere, delicious food, and pleasant staff Cons: A little pricy, but worth it
