I am an avid spa-goer and wanted to try out this new Aveda spa in Orland. I had a terrible experience with a brow wax. The esthetician was a nice woman, however, about 5-8 hours after my brow wax, I noticed the area look raw and bright red. The next morning I was in a tremendous amount of pain and my face looked scary. I went back to the spa only to have a manager ask me over the phone "what I wanted" instead of trying to understand my pain or help me. Luckily, there was another esthetician who worked there part-time from a medispa who helped me. I had to see a physician after this awful experience and still have faint scarring in my brow area from the burns I received at this spa. I would not recommend this irresponsible spa to anybody and would warn people in general to realize that this is HOT wax that could burn if your estheticians are not extremely careful. I also found out afterwards that they were supposed to have me fill out a form before my first waxing treatment, however, they never bothered to do that either.
