Review content:
I was excited to get a pedicure at this day spa as I had heard good things and I loved the decor. It has exposed brick and a romantic feel & seemed like it would be relaxing. I have been in the salon/spa business for 11 years and am a hair colorist at a salon. I know how to important it is to not only provide an excellent service but to also make my guest feel comfortable. I went with my sister in law, she scheduled for a massage and I booked for a pedicure. When we arrived for our service (on time), there were 2 women at the front,we were not greeted, it felt very cold. I thought okay maybe it's been a bad day. Then I was brought back to have my feet soaked in the bath. The woman who did my pedicure was very nice, she was young and I could tell new in the business. She soaked my feet gave me a minute massage on my two feet and applied the polish. My toe smudged as she fumbled and I just thought I'd let it be, she's new and a little nervous. I noticed she hadn't scrubbed my feet at all on the bottom, so asked her about it. She told me that I needed to schedule for a spa pedicure to get that taken care of. Scrubbing under the feet is a BASIC procedure in a pedicure it is not a luxury, a massage is maybe but not scrubbing. When I checked out at the front I told the owner I didn't understand her policy. She told me I'd have to schedule for a SPA pedicure for that service and shrugged me off. I guess she doesn't need anymore business.
So I paid $35 to get my feet soaked and a polish change. For $45 I could get my feet smooth. What a rip off.
This spa is way overrated and the only reason this place gets any business is because of the location and charming decor. Save your money and go somewhere worth the money.
Even the inexpensive little shop down the street will scrub your feet!
Pros: warm decor
Cons: bad service and vibe
