Over the last 18 years, my wife and I have lived from Folsom to Downtown Sacramento. One of our favorite foods to treat ourselves to is Chinese. As far as we know, we've eaten at every Chinese restaurant in the area. Villa Fat is hands down the absolute best. The food they prepare is always fresh, it's never greasy and it's prepared fast. The portions are generous and the cost is very reasonable. They're known for a particularly excellent garlic sauce, so if you love garlic with a perfect level of spice, they've got it. The food is always preparred with care and there is no skimping on certain ingredients. If you want shrimp, you get plenty of it. So many Chinese restaraunts over do it with the chopped celery as a cheap filler. Not here. There's always a nice balance of ingredients and the presentation displays quality as well. One of the first things you will notice upon entering Villa Fat is how personable the staff is. The manager (Ana Wong) and her staff make every visit a absolute joy. Their all very good at remembering what each customer likes right down to a the slice of lemon in your diet coke. lol They also offer food to go, and with that you get the same excellent service and high quality food. The restaurant is very clean as well, which is always nice but unfortunately not seen enough of these days. Considering the fairly large volume of customers they cater to on a day to day basis, it's a comfort to know your dining in a very clean, healthy environment to. So if you think you've found the best place in Sacramento to get Chinese food, I suggest you go try Villa Fat as soon as you can. You won't be disappointed. Villa Fat 440 Elkhorn Blvd. #5, Rio Linda 991-1228 Pros: Excellent food, fast and friendly. Easy to get in and out of or equally nice to relax in. Cons: I wish there were more locations.
