Businiess name:  South Crest Hospital

Review content:
A couple years ago, my husband and I were diagnosed with pancreatitis, for no known reason. I was having various symptoms, but one night became really ill... vomiting blood. My husband rushed me to Southcrest Hospital's emergency department. They ran a few tests, and confirmed that there was bleeding in my stomach. Needless to say, I was admitted into the hospital. My complaint really isn't with their emergency department... really, as far as emergency rooms, I would rate theirs as one of the best in Tulsa. My complaint came from the care (or lack of care) I received while I was inpatient at Southcrest Hospital. I laid in a bed for several days, receiving IV fluids and IV pain medication. The problem is, they never did any testing to find out what was causing the bleeding in my stomach. They never gave me medication, besides for pain. After about five days, a counselor came in and told me that my insurance benefits would be running out, so I should really leave against medical advice, to go to the local county hospital where I could receive care that my insurance wouldn't cover. She then, because I had bruises, accused my husband of beating me!!!!! My husband is a little bitty guy... and I'm six foot tall! Well, it wouldn't have been so bad if she just asked, but when I explained that he did not hurt me, and that I have a condition that causes excessive bruising, she persisted. It was absolutely ridiculous! I ended up leaving the hospital, while I was still completely sick. It became apparent that they were not going to run any tests, because they knew my insurance would not pay. If you have an emergency that won't get you admitted... SouthCrest is a great place to go. If, however, you don't have an unlimited wallet, i would not recommend their inpatient care.
