Review content:
It is difficult to imagine a restaurant in Portland in 2006 of this caliber not having a single vegetarian entree. Is this due to malice or lack of imagination?
As an Overlook resident, I was thrilled to find out a new restaurant was going in two blocks from my front door.
Unfortunately, Roux management seemed interested in the spot mainly for its cheap real estate. Instead of a resource for our (mostly working class) neighbors, they have brought us nothing but parking problems and traffic troubles.
The Bon Temps deli may be an effort to serve the locals, but it's had one false start already. I'm hoping round two is a better effort to serve the hoi polloi.
All that said, I've got to say the chocolate sundae was great. But I won't return or recommend Roux until they make at least a token effort to make vegetarians feel welcome.
Pros: deserts, location
Cons: no veggie food, price
