Pediatric Medical Center is located on Bluebonnet Blvd. south of Perkins Road, just before the Bluebonnet Library. There are around 10 docs on staff, and what's great is that if you can't get in to see your child's regular pediatrician, any of the other docs can see him or her, and it'll still be covered by your insurance.
Dr. Heflin has been my kids' pediatrician since birth -- they're now aged 5 and 9 -- and he is wonderful. He's one of the older docs on staff (there are a lot of younger, 30-something docs there), and he's very patient and very thorough. My kids love him.
We've also seen Drs. Fletchas and Franz, and they're both very good as well.
The office has its own lab, so you can do a urinalysis, blood test, or strep test and just wait a few minutes to get the results. The lady who works in the lab is very sweet.
The office has two waiting rooms -- one for sick kids and one for kids coming for well visits (shots and checkups). There usually isn't a problem with seating in either room. There are a few toys in each room.
And last but certainly not least, Pediatric Medical Center has weekend office hours for emergencies. If your child tends to get sick on a Friday night, or during the weekend, like mine...this is wonderful. Call and give the receptionist your child's symptoms, and if they're severe enough (if you're worried enough to call, they probably are), they see patients between 9 and 12 on Saturdays and Sundays.
Wonderful, caring docs, nice and clean clinic, and weekend hours...what else could you ask for?
