I went last night with a few girlfriends, and we had a great time. I made a 7:30pm reservation, we showed up about 5 minutes late, waited another 5 to be seated. Our server, Crystal, was AMAZING. I haven't had such good service in a while, as we've become so used to the general "I'm too cool for this job" attitude most wait staff have in NYC. Our drinks were never empty before she asked if we'd like another round, she answered all our questions about the dishes in great detail, she was very attentive. As for the food, had a beef empanda to start, was good but not amazing. I had the Pollo al Ajillo entree with yellow rice and black beans, very delicious, very garlicy, a little salty but I love salt so no complaints there. We shared a plate of fried sweet plantains, also very yummy. My friends had the steak salad, and they shared the empanada sampler. Everyone was stuffed by the time we left. We had the drink of the day - only $6! - which was some strawberry puree + vodka concoction, great. Overall, great atmosphere, great service, fun friendly environment, great Cuban food. Pros: Great atmosphere, affordable prices, attentive wait staff Cons: One bathroom upstairs, so there is a line sometimes.
