Businiess name:  McGregor Smith Scout Reservation

Review content:
The McGregor Smith Scout Campground was owned by the South Florida Boy Scout Council in Miami, Florida. Over a year ago, it was sold to SWFMWD or Swiftmud. This water management organization now owns it and has had it closed for the past year. Formerly, several times a year, local boy scout troops would be allowed to learn skills like canoeing, shooting, and wilderness survival in this pristine land. There is plenty of wildlife like feral hogs and sandhill cranes to observe. The South Florida Boy Scout Council had a summer long program for boys all over Florida. They ran an awesome program. My son went one summer. My son spent 7 great years at this campground in the spring and fall for Camporees. They were the best. Now they are no more unless a miracle happens with our own council, Gulf-Ridge Boy Scout Council in Tampa. They rule over Citrus County troops. Good gates and parking. Trails are maintained by an awesome scout, Paul Anderson.
