Review content:
Another area hospital gone to the dogs. I had the opportunity to work at this hospital when I was a teenager and we were taught by the nuns to be compassionate to all our patients. Since I worked on Pediatrics I took a vested interest in Children my own age who were suffering from life long diseases or sudden illness. I went out of my way to do things with these kids that kids do together making the kids feel normal. For the smaller tots on my own time I would play with them if their parents were not up for visitation.
I got more back from these kids that what I felt I gave to them and I have remained lifelong friends with a few of my patients.
During my time working at the hospital I saw many changes taking place among employee staff. No longer were the nuns running the hospital but a businesslike atmosphere took the place of those kindly nuns.
Staff started to bicker with one another and the business personal started to clean house of all employees who would not treat their patients as numbers.
Now a days if you go to this hospital the care is inadequate, emergency care included and if your not sick when you go into the hospital you will be when you come out and see your bill and the inflated charges.
Most of the nuns are gone, the compassion is lacking and the care isn't first rate any more.
Its too bad that this once privately run hospital has succumbed to the greedy corporate big brother.
