Review content:
A few years back we stayed here after they had been open for only a month.
The room we had booked in Galveston had hurrcane damage so we tried to find somewhere else to stay in Galveston. With having everything booked up in Galveston, we decided to try Texas City.
On one side of the road was a Best Western and on the other Crystal Suites. Since we only planned on staying for one night we decided to compare their rates. After checking with the lady at Best Western, we went over to check with Crystal Suites. The minute I walked through the front doors I knew we had found our hotel if we could afford their price! In the entryway was a high ceiling with a beautiful double grand curving staircase leading to the second floor rooms. It was absolutely breathtaking. Definately not what we expected to see in a hotel.
They had one room left for same price as the Best Western. In our room was a mini fridge, no stove because it was a handicap room but there was a microwave and coffee maker with coffee. The furniture was not your average junky hotel furniture. The headboard of the two queen size beds was made of real wood in a homey cherrywood finish. The desk, dressers, loveseat, chest were also the same quality craftmanship in a cherry-ish finish.
Also included was internet service, a small-ish pool, a small weight room and a wonderful breakfast every morning. Breakfast went fast if you weren't up quick though. Bagels, donuts, cereal, muffins, juice, milk, coffee, fruit were just some of the yummies that breakfast in the dining room consisted of.
Staff were always friendly as were all the other guests we ran into.
There is a laundry room with washer and dryer.
PROS:
*Breakfast
*Beautiful Rooms and Common Areas
*Very Clean
*Kitchen with fridge and stove
*Priced Right
*Friendly Staff
DRAWBACKS:
*No View
*Pool is small
I hope they keep up the good work keeping the place in tip top shape, family friendly and reasonably priced yet still draw quality clientele.
I can't say enough about the fabulous service. We ended up staying the whole weekend. Can't wait to go back.
