I've been to a big (ish) university (UA), so most of my observations about UAH are in comparison to this. It's a much smaller university, maybe 10k? I'm not positive on the numbers. I can only speak for the Engineering school, since that's what I'm studying. Campus cops WILL ticket you for rolling stops, as I nearly received one! I've seen them radaring for speeders, too. I guess it's probably a good idea to go fairly slow, since there are plenty of suicidal kamikaze ducks (not to mention clueless bikers and peds).
On the subject of parking, UAH is fantastic. Plenty of space for everyone. (Those of you who have never had to circle a lot for 30 minutes or more, count yourselves extremely fortunate). Very commuter friendly, since most of the students are commuters. Not very work friendly, as most classes are during the day, but there are a few night classes here and there. The co-op program is great if you have an applicable major, too.
Professor/class wise, it's been fine. Truly, I have no major complaints. As far as engineering goes, the classes are tough, but not so tough that you can't make it through. Most of the faculty are very helpful and supportive. Most of my classes have been on the small side, though there are some large classes. There hasn't been a huge language barrier, either, if you know what I mean.
Overall, I can't wait to graduate, but I'm having a good experience so far. If you want a true, honest to God awesome college experience, I'd recommend UA. But UAH is great for academics, especially engineering.
