We were no longer nervous when we found out that Dr Robinson would be my husband's surgeon. I've been told, by many people, that he's one of the best. He was kind, but very honest. He didn't sugar coat the situation, but he wasn't harsh either. He did the best he could with what he had to work with (which admittedly, wasn't much). I really appreciated that he didn't try and give us false hope of saving the finger that had been cut off. He told us up front that he couldn't reattach it. He said he'd be perfectly willing to call some microvascular surgeons, if that's what we wanted though. I appreciated that, but honestly, we trusted his judgement, and I am still confident that he was right about it. I am glad he was on shift when we went to the ER that night. We are lucky to have had such a great surgeon taking care of my husband.
