one saturday morning, while i got an oil change and smog check, i walked from el camino real to old town santa clara over by the university and discovered how wonderful the santa clara farmers market is, right by the post office. well, i forget if it was that day or another day (i think it was another day) when i encountered a woman, selling gift checks coupon books to raise money to help look for missing children. i briefly hesitated before exchanging a ten-dollar bill for the book. wow, i totally do _not_ regret it! i've totallymade my money back! the book mostly has 2-for-1 deals, most with max values capped at about $10. some don't have max values, some have lower max values at around $7. one end of the book has nicer restaurants and the other has more like fast food restaurants. also, the book has coupons for local attractions and some stores. some highlights: tarragon, dusita thai, truya sushi, taxi's hamburgers, pasand (despite the reddy scandal), willow street pizza, khanh's garden, sushi boat town (duk's a great waiter), ... it's a fun book. it helps you decide where to eat.
