This store in Aggieville allows customers to design and purchase a 100% custom t-shirt, within an hour. The staff is friendly and helpful if you aren't familiar with design (or creative), but you can also bring in your own files and use those for the shirt design. They carry the basic Gildan brand t-shirts, but I am glad they also carry sweatshop-free American Apparel clothing. In addition to t-shirts, you can design custom sweatshirts, pants, bags, wallets, scarves, anything really.
One drawback is cost: If you are getting one item, then Thread is the place to go. There is nowhere else in town that can give you one shirt so quickly. This is really great for a quick gift, etc. However, if you are in need of bulk t-shirts, it is questionable as to whether Thread can compete with big screenprinters, such as Ballard's. Another drawback is the limitations on quality- let me explain.
While Thread can churn out a beautiful shirt in less than an hour, there is one stipulation - the design has to be in one color. They can do multiple color designs - but they just aren't going to look as good, or will cost you more money. However, this is not a HUGE drawback. For 95% of customers, this is not an issue.
If you are in need of a quick gift or want to embarrass a friend, check out Thread!
