I had the misfortune of finding out that direct deposit didn't get things done any faster. When a direct deposit would go in on Thursday afternoon (yes anything after 2pm is posted the next day) I thought it would be posted on Friday when the bank opened but what they did instead was shocking. They knew the check was there but made the decision to put the checks that I had written through first so they would bounce and they would get extra money. They did this several times before I ever noticed it because the statement only comes once a month we were out over $800. When I called and asked about it they simply told me that the way they do it was perfectly legal and there was nothing I could do about it. They were wrong because I did something......closed my account.
