AA has a great selection of tanks, fish, plants, books, filters, bulbs, food, and accessories. We've bought a lot there over the years. Most of their people know their stuff, but don't rely on them for breeding info...on that subject they aren't reliable.
Their tanks range from custom jobbies big enough to drown an elephant, to little 1 gallon tanks for bettas or baby fish. They have a gorgeous and healthy selection of plants, but watch out for snails. They do steer you toward the expensive options, but if you are blunt about being on a budget they are still cheerfully helpful and honest.
The fish we've bought there have been healthy, except for 2. We brought them back with a sample of water and got a choice of refund or new fish. Nice service.
Got a pond or a tank you want serviced? They have a service. Got a fish doing something funky but not dead yet? They've got the best books on your kind of fish, or for beginners just starting their first tank.
I love this place, and they are so nice to my kids. It is a pleasure to shop here. If you join their club for a bout 10 or 20 bucks, you get special discount postcards mailed to you every month. We've gotten a few free items, and stuff we needed on discount. Nice!
