Dormont Summer Day Camp
The Borough of Dormont will start accepting applications for our Full Day Summer Recreation Day Camp Program. We accept children K-8. The Program will run from June 13, 2005 through the End of August (end date to be determined.) The Summer Day Camp hours will be 7:30 AM - 6:00 PM. In an effort to plan in advance we are holding an early registration. So please sign up by April 29, 2005 to take advantage.
The following is a brief description of Summer Day Camp. The children begin to arrive at 7:30 AM at the Borough of Dormont Recreation Center where they are greeted by one of the Day Camp Staff. Already being served is a free, nutritious breakfast, part of the Allegheny County Summer Meals Program. If you have already filled your child’s' belly, you can drop them off at 9:00 AM at the Large Pavilion, located on the hill in Dormont Park. That is where the children from breakfast will be escorted to start their day.
From 9AM-12PM the children have the run of the morning. They can choose to make a craft, play some sports, play in the Castle Park, or just sitting around getting to know a new friend.
At noon, the staff gathers up the children to head back down to the Rec. Center for a free lunch. Once again, the Allegheny County Summer Meals Program provides this nutritious meal.
The afternoon starts out with an inspection of the children to make sure they have eaten, clean, and are ready to go swimming. Weather permitting, we do go swimming daily. A pool pass or daily entrance fee is required to be in this program. Pool Passes can be purchased at Dormont Borough Municipal Center.
Around 4:30 PM, we return to the Large Pavilion for parents to pick-up their tired, but very happy children.
If you would like your child to be apart of our fun-filled summer at Dormont Summer Day Camp, please register early, as spaces are limited.
Pricing:
As an incentive, we are offering a discounted rate of $65.00 for the 1st WEEK ONLY, if paid by April 29, 2005. Please return your registration form and check or money order by April 29, 2005 to receive the discounted rate.
Normal pricing is as follows:
$75.00/wk/full day if paid by Friday before service for the following week
$42.00/wk/half day
$16.50/day/full day
Payments must be made before services are rendered!
All payments must be a check or money order made out to the Borough of Dormont, NO CASH WILL BE ACCEPTED!!!
