The institution itself can be useful as far as breakdowns and the like, but now a days with instant access to triptiks, airlines, hotels, car rentals and all that through our---the travel portion seems obsolete. I have used it to ask whom they recommend to park your car at the airport and have needed towing, but other than that, I really don't get $80 worth of use out of it each year. For me it's an insurance policy and if I didn't have the breakdown service, I wouldn't use it. Nowadays, there are even breakdown service alternatives to AAA and having said that, I used the tow service and it still cost me over $100 for a 33 mile trip--I wonder if it would have been much more to just have paid the regular tow rate if I had called the towing company myself. I think your annual dues pay for the magazine publication really...
