Review content:
Florida Commerce Credit Union is a Tallahassee-based Credit Union (basically a bank that is "owned" by the patrons). They are FDIC insured in the same way a bank is, and offer great services for free or lower cost than most national banks. I use them for my local checking/debit account and also have a CD with them (they had a special high interest rate that I have been locked in for a few years). They have free checking/savings for members who keep a steady balance of a certain amount (I think the total is $15 across two accounts) and their debit cards are free for the first year ($10 for each reissued year after). They recently opened their own ATMs at most of the locations, and also offer free ATM withdrawls from any Presto/STAR ATM (any Publix location). I have been satisfied with the customer service, and found that the tellers are generally more friendly and outgoing than at my national bank. They recently changed enrollment requirements (you used to have to be employed by certain agencies) now enrollment is open to all residents of Tallahassee (I think anyone with a Tallahassee address on their drivers license). Worth a call or visit if you're shopping for a bank.
