Can you imagine eating top quality sushi at a Zippy’s Restaurant! Two locations (Pearl City and Kahala) have sushi bars. The Pearl City location is run by the same chef that many recognize from the old Kats sushi. He has managed to bring in some of the freshest fish in town. On holidays such as Christmas, New Years and mother’s and father’s day, he will order the extra fatty toro, which comes in grades such as XO, and resembles very well marbled meat. Unfortunately, they also reserve the better cuts of fish to Japanese speaking people and the regulars. So you’ll have to get to know the chef in order to get some of the best stuff – but when you do – it’s so good.
