For our monthly Girls Night Out, the majority choose Flat Rock because it has always been a very good restaurant and we like it. Aparently the owners have changed and the differences are more than obvious. Since we had a party of 12, we called the day before and made a reservation for Thursday night. We all started leaving work and heading over. Three of us arrived first (5:20) and told the Hostess what party we were with. She said to let us know when everyone arrived and she would seat us. Since most of the group was right behind us, we asked if we could go ahead and be seated and she reminded us the reservation was for 5:30, suggested we wait at the bar. We said we would rather sit at the table and go ahead and get a drink, she again suggested we go to the bar as our res. was not until 5:30. (Let me point out it's Thursday night and the entire restaurant was totally empty.) We asked again why would could not be seated and she said the table is not ready yet. We have 12 people arriving and they haven't even setup the table yet. That's the point of the reservation! We finally went to the bar for the 5 minute wait. Ordered a drink, and then the bartender got an attitude when we wanted to trasfer our tab to the table which the hostess suggested we could do. Then after she finally setup the table - at 5:30 - and told us the table was ready. She smarted off to us as we walked by to the table. We had some minor issues with the waiter also. We called the manager over and relayed the entire story. He apologized, but did little but offer appetizers and ask us to stay, and assured the service would improve. At this point, the entire group was ready to go elsewhere so we left. We called across the street to TGI Fridays who were very packed but had a table ready for 12 people in the amount of time it took us to pay for our drinks and cross the street. We ordered, ate - great food, paid, and made it back across the street to the move in 1 hr. Pros: Food is good - if you get that far! Cons: Rude staff - terrible service.
