Review content:
Tommy Doyle's is not about shamrocks and green stuff, its an Irish owned bar and restaurant that exudes Irish friendliness and warmth. Those who disparage "Irish cuisine" are wise to try the Irish menu items before digging in their heels. The Bangers and Mash is tasty; the corned beef and cabbage is excellent -- with al dente cabbage (a nod to Cambridge tastes?); and the Irish stew is like your grandma used to make. The daily specials are reasonably priced and often outstanding. (The wood-grilled pork chops are one such offering.) The menu also offers typical pub grub (burgers, sandwiches, nachos) and assorted salads.
Of course, the bar is the heart and soul of Tommy Doyle's. Bring a friend and enjoy a pint of Guinness or your favorite brew. Don't have a friend with you? Smile. You will have one in a twinkle. Its that friendly of a place.
Sláinte!
Pros: Friendly, fun atmosphere, outdoor patio
Cons: needs more room
