Review content:
We love Capt. Billy's Wife Place when we're hungry for fried seafood! They put plenty on the plate for the price and it's all fried, except for the slaw. The crab cakes are good and spicy, the shrimp hand-breaded on site and the fish is fresh. Seating is first come but not necessarily first served. For such a small place, it seems difficult for the wait staff to know who should be waited on next but since the food is worth the wait, we wait. Now, for the ambiance. Plastic chairs and tablecloths, styrofoam cups and plastic cutlery but who cares? The band has taken the stand and are tuning up to play! "Step of Faith" is the local band that plays on Sunday afternoons from around 1 p.m. until close at 3 p.m. They play country, bluegrass and gospel. Who could ask for anything more? Capt. Billy's, as we call it, is open Monday through Thursday, 10 to 7, Friday and Saturday 10 to 7:30 and Sunday, 10 to 3. The place is a bit small but we can usually find a table for our group. Come on down to Rockport! We'd love to see you here!
Pros: Good food, great service.
Cons: Parking could be better.
