Bowling is something that I was raised on, and I spent my fair share of time in Seminole Bowl growing up. When these lanes changed hands about ten years ago, the operation as a whole suffered. The place not only suffers from poor maintenance, and is in desperate need of an overhaul, but the staff has the worst attitudes I've seen in a long time. Balls constantly get stuck in the auto return, the lanes are unevenly coated, the pins setters often get stuck or mis-set the pins, and the rates are really bad. What makes it worse is that there are little alternatives in town. Unfortunately their biggest competitor was Capital Lanes (which burned down and has no intent to rebuild). The best maintained lanes in town are probably Crenshaw, but its also the smallest facility and is on FSU's campus, making parking a concern. All in all, Seminole Bowl is probably only in business because they are the only game in town (not counting Crenshaw and the even smaller lanes at FAMU). Leagues need a place to play, and despite their unhappiness with the state of things, Seminole Bowl will continue to be that place. On that note, Seminole Bowl could be worse....I've been in places with over-running bathrooms, ruts on the lanes, and one 16 year old running the counter, the pin-room, and the snack bar. The bottom line is this....if you are just wanting to throw a ball around with some friends....you might have a good time here. It's pricey, compared to Crenshaw (especially for students) but it has a bar and a lot more room. If you're looking for the best bowling in Tally, check FSU's campus.
