Review content:
I used to be a regular at Sahib in 2005, eating there at least once a week. Then my schedule changed and I couldn't travel so far for lunch. Recently I had a day off and decided to drop in for lunch. The restaurant has new ownership and has gone downhill. The carpets a black with grease and grime, half the chairs are cheap metal fill-ins to replace the ornate wood ones that have broken, and the scratched up tables are bare whereas they once were dressed in crisp table cloths. No longer cloth napkins -- there are cheap paper napkins, the thin kind found at hot dog stands. Order a Mango Lassi and it comes in a narrow glass which only holds a few ounces. The naan is still good, but the buffet is smaller and the food is bland and uninspiring. Two years ago the lunch rush meant you had to wait for a table, but the crowd out the door proved it was worth the wait. When I visited last week the restaurant was mostly empty, at 12.30. The new owners are cutting corners and the restaurant is a grimy shadow of its former glory. A major facelift (starting with those filthy carpets) and a new menu might save them, but I'm afraid the damage has been done and this restaurant won't last much longer. It's so sad to see a good restaurant decay and die.
Pros: Cheap
Cons: Filthy dining room, bland food
