Probably the first thing I think of when I see "Marie Callender" is pie. Back when I lived near Sacramento, I remember there was a little Marie Callender restaurant in the mall and we sometimes got strawberry pie there. Somehow that little memory is all wrapped and twisted in my head so that when we go into our local Marie's, I get all happy and nostalgic.
Anyway, go to this Marie's for their salad bar. It isn't the biggest one I've ever seen, but they use really fresh vegetables and make their own salad dressings. On a really hot day (think August in Medford when we are all melting), they keep the place cool and there is nothing better than the salad bar and tea.
Expensive, but really good! The people who work there have always been friendly and quick, so I would say the service is very good as well.
