I've been going to Mesker Park Zoo since I was a little girl, and I never tire of it's beautiful gardens and fantastic array of animals. We go at least a few times a year, especially to check out special exhibitions or events. My fiance' and I visited the zoo on our first date, so it has special meaning for us as well. ;)
It's easy to find, parking is ample and the price is affordable. I've never seen it overly crowded, and the staff keeps the grounds relatively neat and clean. There are paddle boats on a scenic lake (filled with silly geese and ducks!), a tourist tram, a kid's play area and much more. For Evansville's size, it is a spectacular zoo with something special for everyone.
