Once a month you have a chance to get out on the dance floor and try all kinds of dances. K & S gets a lot of regulars who clearly have been taking lessons for years, but newcomers/beginners will feel welcome, too. First Saturday of the month in the Parish Hall of Sacred Heart Church in Newton Centre, each evening starts out with a dance lesson (hard for beginners to follow unless you've had at least a few basic lessons for that style of dance). Each month it's a different type of dance (swing, tango, foxtrot, etc). The night has a good blend of different kinds of dances, from disco to quick step. The crowd is friendly, and singles are certainly comfortable since there are mixer dances and people change partners frequently. A small dessert buffet is included, with pizza and pastries, tea and coffee. Water and soda is available for a nominal price. A great night out for $15. Plenty of parking. They have frequent dances in Cranston, RI, too.
