Review content:
I brought my mother to Doctor Valentine because of convenience - I was visiting from out-of-state and he could see her while I was in town. She needed an eye exam and new glasses, not having had either in over ten years. My mother is a self-employed medical transcriptionist and works on a computer all day.
The staff was very friendly. Dr. Valentine, on the other hand, was rude and abrupt. He was extremely disrespectful of her (she's 80) and showed no patience whatsoever. She had forgotten her glasses and he asked, "How am I supposed to write a prescription for you if I don't know what you already have?" I wondered how he wrote prescriptions for people who never wore glasses! (Turns out she'd left them in the car, so I ran out and got them.) She was in and out, with him telling her there was nothing he could do because she has cataracts and needs surgery. She is very well-versed in eye care because she is directly involved with the field. She had forgotten to ask him one question. I called back the following Monday and was very surprised when he answered the phone. I explained who I was and his response was, "What do you want?" The bottom line is, he is the most rude, disrespectful doctor I have ever met. I would not recommend him to anyone and, had I known of his demeanor prior to scheduling, I never would have brought my mother to see him.
