My family had used State Farm for a long time. I was in an auto accident a few years back. I was NOT at fault for the accident. State Farm denied my claims for wage reimbursement (because they disagreed that the amount I claimed on my taxes was not consistant with the averages they were showing for my area...seriously, who over claims their income on their taxes?) I finally had to hire an attorney to get them to pay my wage loss and to get them to pay my medical in a timely fashion. I was just not impressed with the way I was treated at all.
