Orem's is expensive place to have work done. I had work done a couple years ago at Orem's because my usual mechanic had health issues and couldn't work on my vehicle. My usual mechanic said they charge high $$$$. I recently had work done at Orem's again because my usual mechanic had health issues again. Orem's again charged me high $$$$ so I won't be doing business with them any more. I verified the prices to see how much they actually cost and the parts were readily available.
I was nice and gave them 2 stars because so far the work they did held up even though it has only been a short while. Maybe it's too early to tell.
In general there is a mark up on parts they supply like everything else, plumbers, mechanics, electricians etc. and it it usually 10-20% markup.
Orem's does around 300% markup which is outrageous.
The job shouldn't have taken longer then 1 week to do and perhaps 2 if the part was out of stock or had to be shipped. So they are expensive and drag there feet when doing the work and came up with excuses each day as to why it took so long to finish the simple task of replacing easy to get to parts.
I suggest going elsewhere to save money and get you vehicle back sooner and not have to worry about asking someone for a ride to and from work everyday because your car is being "worked on".
I'm not sure why they have good reviews. I worked at an automotive repair shop before so I know when I'm being overcharged and Orem's definitely price gouges. I should have never given them a second chance but I did because I thought maybe the first time was just a mistake. Shame me twice and you loose me as a customer.
