I purchased my first and only set of dishes and coffee mugs out of their restaurant ware seconds bins. For a service of 8, consisting of a 8 dinner plates, 8 Grand dinner plates, 8 desert plates and 8 coffee mugs, I paid less than $10,00. This was in 1978, and the set is still in use today. Only 2 mugs, 2 great plates and 1 desert plate have been broken over the decades. the finish is still in excellent condition and my kids fight over who will inherit them. they are industructable!
