Review content:
I call him "Doc." Dr. Tolles has been my doctor for 30 years and I will be his patient until he retires or one of us dies. He is intelligent, kind, caring about his patients. He challenges me to be healthier, and never judges. Not only does he know my whole family & my history, if I didn't come in for a year, he would ask about each of them when I come back, remembers them, remembers details.
Three years ago, I moved 70+ miles away. Due to a new job and new insurance, couldn't see Dr. Tolles anymore. I wrote him a Christmas card as usual and thanked him for being my doctor for 27 years, and that I had to find a new doctor in the new county. I was surprised when a few days later, I got a personal call from Dr. Tolles about the card and my insurance snafu, and he gave me the names of a couple of local doctors to see. How many doctors do you know who do that?
During that next year I saw three doctors for different issues in my new town, and none of them seemed interested in me as a person. Walk in with clipboard. Ask a couple questions. Take notes. Don't look at patient. Give referral to someone else. Walk out. Was pretty much it. So as soon as open enrollment came on insurance, I got insurance that would allow me to see Dr. Tolles again, and now drive 1.5 - 2 hours (depending on traffic) each way to see him, because he provides excellent, compassionate medical care. He is a quality doctor who interacts with his patients without bias and solves our ailments. He's one of a kind.
