Review content:
For anyone planning to bring their child to this center or any Kumon, it is not one on one tutorship. They only provide minimal guidance and expect the children to learn by self-learning through their propriety workbooks. This may be a proven method but my issue is the level of dishonesty and the misleading responses Miss Sabiha, the franchise owner, gave to us.
My son needed extra tutorship while visiting his grandparents in New Jersey. We enrolled my son just for the summer (Jun/Jul) since in Florida school starts on Aug10th. During sign up I told her that it's only for the two months. In the last month, the grandparents notified the center in writing that my son's last day will be on Aug 3rd, but my wife spoke to Miss Sabiha that my son will not be in attendance at all in August since he will be traveling to Florida in car. She understood and told us that it will be fine and that she will not charge us for the month of August and if there is a charge call her and she will refund the money. Miss Sabiha was even nice enough to give us some extra work for my son to complete during his travel back to Florida.
Now I see a charge for the entire month of August and my initial reaction is to call Miss Sabiha for the refund. She tells me that she gave my wife an entire month of work and extra work for my son to complete. My wife never agreed to that and Miss Sabiha never disclosed it to us. If we would have known this than we would of never taken it. She even told my wife it's extra work for the drive back home. I was extremely upset about this and she told me is that's how we do business here.
Coming to find out Miss Sabiha is correct, it states "It is due in full until the discontinuation form is filled or if a student attends any session or if Kumon materials are taken by the student during the month." They charged us for the simple fact that we accepted the extra work for my son knowing that my son will not be in attendance. If this is not dishonest or misleading than I don't know what is.
