Businiess name:  Frenchtown Transmission

Review content:
DON’T GO! I dropped my 1989 Corvette off at Frenchtown on June 18th, 2021 and was told it was slipping in 3rd. Three weeks later the manager Brad Sewell called and said after rebuilding the transmission it now shifted to 3rd, but not shifting to 4th. Days later he called and said it was ready, and that the reasoning was due to a part that they replaced, that didn’t need replacing. No sweat. Picking up my car Brad “randomly mentioned” how nice targa tops were, and instructed me to take care of it, then we began talking about targa tops vs convertibles. Not one second did he mention seeing anything wrong with it, or that they may have damaged it. Thought nothing of it. I get in my car, drive for 30 miles (as instructed) and my check light engine comes on. Brad is leaving the shop, so we agree that I come back the next day. Headed home, I realize wind coming through the front right of the Targa top. Miles later, in the middle of the highway, my ENTIRE TOP flys off. Livid. I send Brad pictures on FB, and tell him I want to be professional about it. He calls the next morning, and says Frenchtown Transmissions will not pay for it. He goes on to tell me that I believe my car is the best car anyone at that shop has touched. Meanwhile, I wouldn’t care if it was a hooptie, if I drop my car off for transmission problems (which still isn’t fixed) THE TOP OF MY CAR SHOULD NOT FLY OFF THE FIRST TIME I DRIVE IT (pictured). I’ve driven the car over 900 miles in 3 months and have had ZERO problems. Brad also tells me that they unlatch the top during labor, which means they did alter the top at some point & time. It is very unprofessional that a company will not take accountability for something that’s happened during their possession, and I am forced to take this up with my insurance company. PLEASE, DO NOT go to Frenchtown Transmissions, by any means!
