I took them a chainsaw that had stopped working during its warranty period. Being mechanically inclined, I knew that the problem was a defective impulse line from the crankcase to the carburetor, resulting in a scored piston and cylinder-an expensive repair. However, as it was during the warranty period, I took it to this "signature elite" ECHO dealer for repair. Their diagnosis? "Bad gas." When I told them I had been using 90 octane, ethanol-free gas properly mixed with 2-cycle oil, they took a day to re-evaluate. Their story the next day? "The saw cannot be fixed by us, at this location." They refused to give me an explanation as to what I had done wrong, but only stated that it was not covered by warranty. So I drive in to pick it up, and by then they had reverted to their "bad gas" explanation. Their rationale for concluding "bad gas?" "When we opened the fuel tank, it smelled horrible." I have never been more disappointed in a service department. I would give zero stars, or even negative stars if that were possible.
