This dentist ended his contract with my insurance company and deliberately withheld that information from me until after I had had thousands of dollars of work done! He then sent me a letter saying he was no longer working with Humana and sent me his bill. If he had told me this before he worked on my teeth, I would have changed dentists because my insurance would have paid for almost everything with an in-network dentist, but of course that is why he withheld that info. I'm trying to resolve this in a fair way with him, but he had asked me to sign a form allowing him to perform the treatments without telling me he had dropped my insurance, so he says I'm obligated to pay it. If this isn't a scam, what is? Recently, they moved their office to a much larger facility where you have to go up a sketchy outdoor stairway. This was listed online as one of the main ways doctors discriminate against older and less healthy patients if they don't want to deal with them. This (the new, larger office) would also be a reason why he's so expensive and doesn't want insurance companies limiting how much he can charge. There's supposed to be another way up that comes through the back from a neighboring building, but I haven't found it. Avoid this business.
