Review content:
This eventually ended up in the City of Buffalo Small Claims Court where CPR Custom Concrete ultimately lost. My major concern with the job is the concrete is only 2 ½” to 3 ½” thick when measured at the sides. Contract states 4 inches of concrete which is industry standard. Also after verifying with the Town of West Seneca CPR did not have a permit to perform the job and failed to install a 6 inch apron as required by town code. They cheated by a full 2 inches by only installing a 4 inch apron and no wire mesh. When I initially questioned Michael Daniels/owner, he became angry and told me he makes the center thicker. He stated he would drill holes in the driveway in order to measure and prove I had the required 4 inch thickness and then laughed and said he wouldn’t fix the holes when done. I then asked to see the concrete ticket to verify how much concrete was poured. He refused. At this point I hired an environmental company that uses a ground penetrating radar to test the thickness of concrete and records the images. Sure enough this company cheats its customers and goes thin on the concrete. They also did not use expansion joints up against the house and other important areas such as the newly installed drainage system. A 3 ½ foot crack developed three days after the job was completed due to the cutting of a control joint next to an existing metal gate pole which caused a vibration and the crack. Wire mesh was improperly placed or not placed at all (found this out after the environmental company report was completed). Caused extensive damage to both my neighbor’s home and mine by splashing concrete on the neighbor’s fence and putting a hole in his screen by leaning construction materials against his house. CPR Custom Concrete damaged my front door, garage door, back door and back patio door by putting deep scratches and dents in them. All doors including the garage door are only three years old. They drilled a hole from the inside of my patio to the outside to allow for drainage and popped out a piece of the...
