Review content:
I contracted Wayne Franks business Outdoor Homescapes to construct an outdoor space for my home in April of 2017. The cost was $45k plus $2500 for a plumber to create a gas line to area. Time estimate was 6 weeks. After the first surge of work, things slowed drastically. Excuses were numerous and ranged from hot climate to employee problems. If I didn't see progress for a week, I would message owner to ask for a plan. I'd get a couple of days of work, then nothing for 1-2 weeks. Often we would go 3-4 weeks without seeing any work at all. By the time we reached the 5 month mark (with a 6 week timeline) he had collected most of the money, but the big items were unfinished. We had a space with a roof and electricity, a framed counter area with no stone or granite, a fireplace made or hardiplank with no stone or mantle. There was a large pile of trash that I had to remove on my own since they were not coming on a regular basis and had not been taking any trash when they left each time. There were bricks missing from the side of my house where the new space connected to the original home. No inspections had taken place with my township and i began receiving letters about this delinquency. When the kitchen finishes were added, we waited weeks between adding the stone on outside, then big wait, then finally granite on top, more weeks, then finally appliances were to be delivered. The refrigerator that had been planned had not been ordered, nor had a space been cut out to place it. I referred back to contract to verify, and it was definitely on there. Also, the fireplace didn't seem to have any gas functionality (after I had paid $2500 for a plumber to dig up yard to have the gas connection. When I raised these issues with owner, I was told "oh well, nothing we can do about this now." He argued with me on the fireplace, telling me after his supervisor had told me that it didn't have gas function, that I just didn't know what i was talking about and that it was there. Houston was hit with a terrible loss with Hurricane Ha..
