Please do not take your cat to this clinic. I needed a new vet. My vet retired. I am not sure of the compentency of these doctors but I do not ever want to return with my cat. Between the doctor and the vet tech they did whatever it took to try and persuade me to to ramp my bill up for unecessary services. I have owned kitties for over 30 years and believe fully vets should be paid very well for their services. They are college educated and professionals. I am well acquainted with many medical procedures but this was unbelievable what they tried to force on me. A less experienced cat owner would of been intimidated and walked out with an untreated cat or even caved in. The worst part was insisting my cat have what is called a SNAP FIV/FeLV Combo Test . She is indoor only and these test are relatively inexpensive if you purchase it yourself, around 25 to 30. I do not have a problem with a vet charging more for this test because it covers their overhead such as salaries, storage, time to interpret etc. They are running a business. But she wanted to charge me $259. I could not believe it and I have the bill right in front of me. They also wanted to charge me $85 for a Seresto flea collar. These run about $40 online. There was also a few other questionable charges but I wanted to bring up the most outrageous ones. They made me wait alone a long time after I asked the vet tech about each charge. This is carefully crafted sales technique written by psychologists. I have seen this before and I am familiar with it. I was appalled and I am considering forwarding a copy of the bill to the Connecticut State Board of Veterinary Medicine. Not only is this unethical and unprofessional but shows clearly a preference for owners that are in a higher income bracket AND CAN BE INTIMIDATED INTO PAYING FOR UNECESSARY TESTS AND PROCEDURES thereby "weeding" out the less profitable clients. Do not take your cat there.
