Review content:
The person that answered my phone call was very professional and sold me on the company. The repair done on the staircase was a quick fix to pass inspection. I told the repairman that came out the second the proper way to repair it was to replace the drywall inside the stairwell. He agreed with me but did not replace the drywall. He just put enough nails in the frame and drywall to keep it from wobbling. 100$ dollars an hour is too expensive. I paid to much for the job that was done. Job was not done right the first and second time. Cost me time, money and sleep going to the property twice. Will not recommend your company. RESPONSE FROM Mr. Handyman serving Greater Jacksonville: I’m sorry we didn’t meet your need, and (as you know) we already sent somebody back to address the issue. I assume this inspection was tied to a home transaction, and an investment off $XX would have been $ out of your pocket that you would not have gotten back at closing. For this reason, it seems, you wanted to keep the cost down; but now have opinions on how ‘best’ to do the work. We actually agree with you on how best to do the work, but that was outside your budget. We proudly stand behind our work and sent somebody back to tighten your railing. That return trip was at our cost, and was to improve on the approach to the work that you were willing to fund. There is frequently a ‘repair vs. replace’ discussion in our business …. Where the repair is cheaper but imperfect, and the replacement is the better long-term approach but costs more to get done. Asking for a repair, and then pointing out the imperfections, doesn’t entitle you to a replacement project as part of our warranty on the work. Thank you for your business, and good luck with your move.
